Owner and Principal Tutor

Ochre Lawson is a professional exhibiting artist of over 17 years represented by Jennings Kerr gallery in the Southern Highlands. Ochre achieved her BFA in Fine Arts from the prestigious  National Art School in Sydney, a Diploma of Fine Arts from Southbank Technical College in Brisbane and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from Charles Sturt University.

Ochre has had 8 solo exhibitions and been in numerous group exhibitions. Her work is held in pubic collections at Art Bank. and is also held in private collections in Australia, New Zealand, New York and London. She has been a finalist in many art prizes including most recently The Glover.

Ochre has taught adults in painting and drawing at many different art schools throughout Sydney including the Art Gallery of NSW , Hornsby and Bachelor Institute of TAFE, Art-Est  art school, Waverley Woollahra art school, and Northbridge School of Arts. Ochre has also delivered workshops in a variety of community organisations and high schools as Artist in Residence.

Ochre is a highly experienced and enthusiastic art tutor of over 15 years teaching painting and drawing to absolute beginners to more experienced adult students. Her teaching style is structured while relaxed, taking students through basic techniques to more advanced concepts. She is experienced at having a variety of student levels in her classes and encourages students to find their own interests whilst being informed by master artists.

Ashley Frost
Casual Tutor (in emergencies only)

Ashley Frost is a graduate of the National Art School. His career as a professional artist and educator spans 25 years with exhibitions in Australia and abroad including New York, Tokyo, Guangzhou and Hong Kong. Frost’s work has been acquired for a number of public and private collections. In 2004 he won the prestigious Kings Prize, the Hills Art Prize 2018 and 2017 Mosman Art Prize Viewers choice. He has been a finalist in a number of art prizes since 1998 including the Archibald Prize 2017, Paddington 2004 and 2018, Adelaide Perry 2016, Mosman Art Prize, Plein air art prize and Gallipoli Prize 2018.

Ashleys teaching style is relaxed and informative including demonstrations and discussions about artists and art techniques.
