Art Class Sydney terms coincide with school terms.

COVID 19 – Restrictions have been lifted. All Term 3 classes and workshops will be now be conducted at the St Johns Hall in Balmain. Only 12 students, social distancing and hygiene measures will be in place including 4sqm per person.

Art Class Term dates

Term 1 2020

  • Wednesday 12 February – Wednesday 25th March
  • Thursday 13th February – Thursday 26th March

Term 2 2020

  • Wednesday 6th May – 17th June
  • Thursday 7th May – 18th June

Term 3 2020

  • Wednesday 29th July – 9th September
  • Thursday 30th July – 17th September (No class on the 27th August – Church Fete)
  • Student Exhibition (date TBA)

Term 4 2020

  • Wednesday 21st October – 2nd December
  • Thursday 22nd October – 3rd December

Art Class Times

Wednesday day: 10.00am – 2.30pm General Painting (oil and acrylic) for beginners and more advanced students

Thursday day: 10.00am – 1.30pm Learn to draw and more class(Beginners and more advanced)

Thursday evenings classes: 6.30pm – 9.00pm General Painting (oil and Acrylic) beginners and more advanced

Art Class costs

Wednesday Day 10am-2.30pm, 4.5hrs
7 classes $510, Early Bird $460 (10% discount)

Thursday day 10am-1.30pm, 3.5hrs
7 classes $420, Early Bird $380 (10% discount )

Thursday Evening  6.30-9pm, 2.5hrs
7 classes $380, Early Bird $345 (10% discount )

July – Sunday 26th, 10 am – 3pm, Fundamentals of Landscape in Watercolour and Ink

August – Sunday 16th, 10 – 3pm, Drawing and Painting Fundamentals – Landscape

August – Sunday 30th, 10am – 3pm, Drawing and Painting Fundamentals – Still Life Flowers

September – Sunday 20th, 10-3pm, Painting landscape using Impasto – Master Class- Tutor Ashley Frost (intermediate to more advanced)

October – Sunday 18th, 10-3pm, Painting Abstract landscape – Master Class (intermediate to more advanced)- Tutor Ochre Lawson

November – Sunday 15th, 10-3pm, Fundamentals of Landscape in Watercolour and Ink

December – Sunday 6th, 10 – 3pm, Sketching outside in the landscape at a park in Sydney TBA

Enrolment Terms and Conditions

COVID – If the hall is forced to close due to restrictions being put back in place students must be prepared to do the class via zoom. There will be no refunds due to hall closure.

Conditions: All term classes must be taken within the term paid for. 

No Refunds

Fees are non-refundable, unless negotiated for an extended illness.

Missed classes

You may make up missed classes by attending other classes within the same term (Subject to available places in the class, Daytime painting will attract a $20 top up fee, Daytime Drawing a $10 top up fee if you are enrolled in the evening class). 

Cancellation of enrolment

If you choose to withdraw from a course or workshop up to 7 days before its commencement, you will be charged a $25 administration fee. You may transfer the remaining value (class fee paid less administration fee) to another class or student, to be used within 12 months of the date payment was received. You will not receive a refund for the course or workshop fee paid.

If you choose to withdraw from a course or workshop within 7 days of its commencement, you will be charged 50% of the class fee. You may transfer the remaining value (50% of the class fee) to another class or student, to be used within 12 months of the date payment was received. You will not receive a refund for the class fee paid.

NO refunds transfers or credits if you withdraw or cancel on the day of the course or workshop.
NO refunds transfers or credits once the class has commenced.

Student substitutions

If you have enrolled in a one day weekend workshop that you cannot attend, you may transfer your enrolment to someone else. Please let us know prior to the workshop.

If you are enrolled in a term course and if for any reason you are unable to attend a class during the term, you cannot give your place for the missed week/s to someone else. 

Cancellation of Workshops

Art Class Sydney strive to run every class advertised, however, very rarely, classes may be cancelled due to low numbers. Students will be reimbursed the full fee or they may be credited toward another class if you prefer.
